Herzz

Let’s start simple — who are you and what do you collect?

Hello, my name is Issac and I run the page Herzz. I’m a huge nerd and I enjoy collecting. The main line I’m into right now is Marvel Legends (my main collection), as well as Mafex.

What got you into collecting?

What got me into collecting was my father. He always used to buy me toys as a child, so I was always into them. As time went on, I eventually lost all my toys and got more into gaming.

The moment that really sparked everything again was when I was 17 and got my first job. I was finally able to purchase something on my own. Iron Man has always been my hero, and I really fell in love with the MCU when my cousins took me to see the movies in theaters. I became obsessed, and that’s what started my action figure and comic collection.

What was your first “must-have” piece?

My first must-have piece was the Mezco Captain America. It was my first import figure, and I had never spent over $40 before as a Marvel Legends collector. This was my first “big boy” purchase.

What are your main lines or fandoms today?

I’m into everything haha—Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, anime, McFarlane. I’ve got a little bit of everything sprinkled throughout my collection. I don’t usually complete full waves—I just get what I like.

Are you a “keep it in the box” collector or do you open everything?

I open everything. I appreciate the art of collecting boxes, but that isn’t my style. I love to pose my figures and actually interact with them. I don’t think I’ve gone a day without touching an action figure.

What’s the centerpiece of your collection right now?

My current grail is my Mezco Captain America. I display him in front of my entire collection.

What figure are you still chasing?

One figure I’m really chasing is the Marvel Legends Hawkeye (comic version). There hasn’t been a reissue, so I see crazy prices from $60 to $150. I need him to complete my Avengers display, but he’s hard to find.

Do you focus more on posing, displaying, or just collecting?

I focus on both. I love completing certain lines, but sometimes if I just enjoy a figure, I’ll grab it even if I don’t have any other characters from that line. I like to think of those as staples of what I enjoy.

What’s your favorite thing about collecting?

The hunt is what keeps me hooked. I mostly buy from retail stores, so I love finding figures on the shelf. There’s nothing better than walking into my home and seeing my display case.

What’s one line or figure you think is underrated right now?

Anime Heroes. People hate on them, but I love them haha. It’s my niche thing. They might not always be the most accurate, but they have a special place in my heart.

What’s a dream figure or character you wish would get made?

A Revoltech Max Steel—specifically the Disney XD version. That would be amazing.

If you could only collect one line going forward, what would it be?

Marvel Legends. People hate on Hasbro, but they’re the only ones making niche characters at that scale. The amount of figures they put out is insane, and I love the comic accuracy and slightly cartoony look.

How has collecting changed for you over time?

My focus has shifted more toward quality over quantity. I try to complete teams now instead of starting a bunch of new ones. Right now, I’m working on an Avengers and X-Men ’97 setup, and I want to finish those before moving on to something else.

What advice would you give to someone just getting into collecting?

Enjoy what you love. Don’t buy something just because you think you need it—buy it because you genuinely like the character. Don’t let anyone tell you something is bad or that you don’t deserve to treat yourself. Be yourself, collect what you love, and never hate on someone else’s collection.

Where can people find you and your collection?
